Highway Guardrail Resources

Find product information, technical guidance and practical answers for guardrail specifications, sourcing and project preparation.

Q1. What materials and surface treatments do you use for the guardrails?

A: We commonly supply project-specified carbon steel grades such as Q235 and Q355. Surface options include hot-dip galvanizing and powder coating. Zinc coating mass, color and coating system should be confirmed against the project standard, drawings and service environment before production.

A: Yes. We supply both W-Beam and Thrie-Beam guardrail systems, together with matched posts, spacers or blockouts, bolts and terminal components. The final configuration should follow the project drawings and required containment system.

A: We can manufacture to the dimensional, material and coating requirements stated in standards such as AASHTO M180 or in project-specific specifications. EN 1317 is performance-based, so compliance depends on the tested system configuration. Please send the required standard so we can confirm drawings and the documents available for the quoted system.

A: Service life depends on zinc coating mass, coating damage, installation quality, traffic exposure, marine or de-icing conditions and maintenance. We therefore do not use one fixed lifetime for every project. Share the service environment and required standard so the appropriate corrosion-protection system can be reviewed.

A: Pricing is based on beam profile and thickness, steel grade, length and hole pattern, galvanizing or powder coating, posts and accessories, order quantity, packing method and destination. Send the BOQ, drawings or required standard for an itemized quotation.

A: Yes. A complete supply can include W-Beam or Thrie-Beam panels, posts, spacers or blockouts, bolts, washers, nuts and project-specified terminal components. We confirm the bill of materials against your drawings before production.

A: Common beam thicknesses include 2.67 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.0 mm, but thickness alone does not determine system performance. Selection should follow the applicable standard, containment level, post spacing and approved project drawings. We can review your documents before quotation, but specification changes should be approved by the project engineer.
