Saudi Roads Authority Advances Sector Development and Local Content

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Roads General Authority stated on 8 September 2026 that it is continuing its strategy to develop and sustain the roads sector while supporting local content and national capabilities. Priorities include improving the regulatory environment, localizing industries, transferring knowledge and expanding private-sector participation in road projects.

The authority explained that annual local-content targets are set according to each project’s nature and scale, with standards and requirements supporting domestic industrial development. It is also expanding the application of modern technical standards to strengthen a unified, transparent regulatory framework and improve compliance.
